Wednesday night…
We caught up with Chris and John before they headed back to Adelaide. Kate and I met them in Covent Gardens for a quick drink before they headed off to see The Lion King theatre show! Chris stocked us up with mini jams and toiletries and travel packets of biscuits (Scottish shortbread, mmmm!!!) and we said our teary goodbyes (yes I cried, why are you not surprised?!) Kate and I grabbed a yummy Cornish pasty for dinner, had a wander around Covent Gardens and headed to the tube station… But there was one slight problem… the central line (which is our line home) wasn’t running!! So we had to figure out how to get buses home which was an effort and a half! 2 buses and 2 hours later we made it home, PHEW!!!!
Saturday comes around…
And we had a pretty lazy day which was really good!! I watched a few eppies of Beverly Hills 90210 season 4 that Jessie sent me and was in my pjs until lunchtime! During the afternoon me and Kate rearranged our room and gave it a good clean and Hoover (yes that’s what English people call VACUUM!!!! They looked at us blankly the first time we asked where the vacuum was!) We set up some new furniture and before we knew it, it was 4:30pm and we had to start getting ready to go out!!
Saturday night me, Kate, Jazzy (my cousin), Jade (friend of Courts and Jazzy) and Kate’s friend Jazzy (did you all get that?!) went and saw WICKED the stage show and it was fantastic!!! For those of you who don’t know about Wicked, it is the untold story of the Witches of Oz and how they came to be called ‘good’ and the other ‘wicked’. It was amazing! I loved it!!! And now I want to go and see more stage shows!!!
Others on the list would have to be Dirty Dancing (of course!!), The Lion King, The Sound of Music and Chicago just to name a few! There are so many to choose from! After the show we headed to Leicester Square for some ice-cream and a drink and we were all fairly buggered after that so we all headed home on the last tube!!
Here's me, Jade and Jazzy after the show!!
And then comes Sunday…
Sunday morning I spent almost 2 hours on the phone to the fam- got to talk to Mum, Dad, Matty, Damo, Britts and Rose!!! The only one missing was the B-rad! It’s not often that everyone is home when I call so I was a happy chappy!
Sunday Jazzy and I headed to the Camden Markets. After Jazzy and I stuffed ourselves with nachos and apple pie for lunch, we started perusing the markets. Camden is in North West London and it is a really trendy area. It has six busy open-air and indoor markets each with its own distinctive style. The high road of Camden is filled with shops, bars and restaurants so it’s a really cool place to visit. It was the first time I had been there too so it was new for both of us. A lot of it was very punk rocker (lots of stuff with skulls on it) and alternative (any sort of leather clothing you can think of, tattoo and piercing parlours), overall a very cultured place. The markets were fantastic!! I bought the cutest little £10 dress and Jazzy bought a few dresses, some scarves and some gorgeous costume jewellery.
Here's me, then Jazzy posing like tourists at the markets!

Later in the afternoon Kate met us as well and she did some shopping too- clothes and jewellery for Kate! We sat down for a bit and had a drink by the river-

Kate with her Pimms and lemonade!
Jazzy headed back home to Courts place and me and Kate headed into Leicester Square for a quick bite to eat for dinner in China Town in an awfully small and cramped all you can eat Chinese place for £4.95 which consisted of about 8 dishes- one was chicken curry but the chicken was few and far between it was more like onion and sauce!! (But the sauce was yummy on the noodles!) AND they even had hot chips as one of the dishes, hiiiiiiilarious!!!
After dinner I headed to meet J and Manda as they had arrived back in London town around 6ish. They ended up staying at a hotel so I hung out with them for a couple of hours there. They showed me their Contiki photos and told me some of the stories, they had a fantastic time away!
A couple of hours later, I was back on the tube and on my way home again. So that’s the weekend wrapped up!!
Will give you another update next weekend!!
