Placa de Catalunya....
One of Gaudi's famous builings in Barcelona.... Le Pedrera, I loved it, so pretty!!!
Courts got a bit bored with the sight seeing stuff... here she is on the bus.... sleeping!!
Gaudi's most famous structure- Sagrada Familia which is still under construction. Building work began in the late 19th century and it is now funded by churchgoers and devotees, and through ticket revenue from visitors. It is Gaudi's dream to which he devoted most of his life. At the time of his death in 1926 only one of the towers had been completed. The continuation of Gaudi's project has become an unmistakable symbol of Barcelona. Gaudi apparently said before he died that there is no time limit to finish construction- God is in no hurry!! The photos just dont do it justice, it is an amazing building.
Then it was off to explore Park Guell which is named after Gaudi's great patron, Count Eusebi Guell. This park shows the way Gaudi integrated his work into nature which was his main source of inspiration. It was soooo beautiful!!! Here's me at the entrance of the park....
And Courts...
Some of Gaudi's work....
The view from the top of the Park.....
Courts taking a seat on the cool benches which surrounded the park!
Just a bit of fun.....
The detail was AMAZING!!!
Then it was off to see the Barcelona Football Club...
And then back to to Las Ramblas.....

Another interesting place we visited but didnt take photos of was the 1992 Olympic Stadium. Very cool!! And the other place i loved but because we were in the bus it was difficult to take photos as we were moving... was Barri Gotic which was the Gothic quarter of Barcelona. it was built on the old Roman town. parts of the city walls are still there today. Impressive buildings here were the Cathedral and City Hall. There were also lots of Spanish sculptures which I LOVED!!!!

They dropped us back at the bus station at around 2:30am and we hopped on the bus to go back to the airport.
I loved Barcelona and the architecture and the history- SOOO AMAZING!! I would love to go back there when it is warmer weather because i think it would be a sensational place in the summer. The only place in Spain I want to go to now is Madrid, so maybe I'll have to do a stop over back in Barcelona on that trip!
We finally arrived back in London around 7:30am Sunday morning and headed home, I pretty much slept the day away!!!!
