We arrived in Edinburgh at around 7:30am and headed straight to our hostel/backpackers place to check in. I love staying in backpackers places but little Damo was a little freaked out by the idea. When we checked in they gave us sheets and pillowcases for our beds and a towel and Damo's comment was- "How do you know they've even washed them?!" Me and Rose were in hysterics laughing!! I think Damo was thinking too much of the movie Hostel and thinking his experience was going to be scary, but it was far from that!!!
After checking in we went to a cafe to have some breakfast... we weren't quite brave enough to try haggis yet though!! Here's Damo waiting in desperate need for his morning coffee!!
Then we had a bit of a walk around and wander before we joined the walking tour!
This is the street we stayed on!

This is the dirtiest place in all of Edinburgh- I cant remember the story exactly but when everyone walks past it, they spit on it!! Dont step on the heart, spit everywhere, SO GROSS!

We found some funny mirrors!!

This graveyard was sooooo cool!!! J K Rowling got all of the names for the Harry Potter book from this graveyard! In fact she wrote the first novel in Edinburgh!! Very exciting stuff!!

This building was the inspiration for the school in Harry Potter!!
Damo and Rose taking photos of the Harry Potter school building- soooo funny!! Hehe!
Greyfriar's Bobby's grave... its a dog! The story goes- In 1858, a man named John Gray was buried in old Greyfriars Churchyard. His grave levelled by the hand of time, and unmarked by any stone, became scarcely discernible; but, although no human interest seemed to attach to it.The sacred spot was not wholly disregarded or forgotten. For fourteen years the dead man's faithful dog kept constant watch and guard over the grave until his own death in 1872.The famous Skye Terrier, Greyfriars Bobby was so devoted to his master John Gray, even in death, for fourteen years Bobby lay on the grave only leaving for food.It is reported that a daily occurance of people from all walks of life would stand at the entrance of the Kirkyard waiting for the one o'clock gun and the appearance of Bobby leaving the grave for his midday meal. Still today people come and visit Bobby's grave- there were notes and dog biscuits and all sorts on his grave... a little bit creepy I gotta say!
A statue of Bobby outside the graveyard...
J K Rowling would sit in this coffee shop for hours and write the Harry Potter novel!!!

Scotch factory!!
There were setting up for the Duran Duran concert outside Edinburgh Castle- Rose was sooooo excited!!!

Weird costumed guy out the front of Edinburgh Castle!
Then it was off to a tartan factory!!
