Day 2- TURKEY- Gallipoli

Today a very hungover (and possibly still drunk) Kelly got out of bed VERY early and hopped on the bus to take us to Gallipoli. The drive was supposed to take around 5 hours with a couple of stops in between. En route to the Peninsular we stopped for a bite to eat, stretch our legs and stock up on supplies for the evening ahead. After this we were supposed to head straight to Gallipoli but we couldnt get in because the NZ prime minister was having a look around and the Aussie Governor General was practicing her speech. RUDE!! So we got taken to a little town to kill 3 hours. Me and my new found friends on my tour- Monica and Chantelle, decided to catch the ferry over to a far more interesting town across the way!

Here's some photos from the ferry ride over...Then it was off the ferry and off to explore! We went for a walk along the pretty harbour....This horse was the one the was in the movie Troy!!!After a couple of hours wandering around, it was time to hop back onto the ferry to hopefully get back on the bus and finally make it to Gallipoli!!Chantelle, me and Monica....After another couple of hours of waiting, it was time!! We were finally allowed to enter the Cove!! There was a HUGE line up to get there...Memorial we passed along the way...After a hands on security check, we were finally in!! Us 3 girls were lucky enough to get one of the last spots on the grass area, luckyyyyyyyy! The afternoon was supposed to be free for us to explore the many memorials, battlefields and trenches but because of the hold up, we'd need to wait until tomorrow to explore. We set out our sleeping bags and sat back and took in the loaded atmosphere as the legendary wait for first light commenced.Proud Aussies :)A quick catch up with Kirst and Nat- they were on a tour as well and were set up in a different section to me. Kirst thought my outfit was funny, particularly by socks and thongs!!Nat, Kirst and me!Kirst and me!Then it was down to the beach to watch the sunset....Chantelle and Mon!!A browse around the food stalls and merchandise area... Then it was back to our seats as darkness was almost upon us!Time to rug up and prepare for the cold night ahead!!We played some uno to pass the time!!Mon wanted to sleep but all me and Chonny wanted to do was take photos!!!Look Cockie- i'm wearing the heaps good jumper you bought me for Christmas!!!!Everyone in their sleeping bags trying to get some sleep. I think i slept maybe an hour on and off- the whole night!!Kirst and Nat came and found me about 3am, such a pretty sight!!Through the night they had different speakers and performances and readings and interviews. So there was really no way i could sleep!! It was all very fascinating and very moving. The band appears and we know sunrise isnt too far away....Then comes the reason we're all here....
