Day 2 and the sun was shining and we had beautiful weather again!! Very lucky!! We got up and checked out at 10am and then went on search of somewhere to have something yummy for breaky! None of us felt like bacon and eggs or maccas (which by the way dont do breakfast menu in Amsterdam anyways!!) So we walked around in search of something yummy!
On our travels we stumbled across some pretty tulip markets...
And more sinking houses!
Until we came across the worlds most amazing bakery!! This is where we had breakfast!! They had the yummiest cakes and pastries, we loved it!!

Here is Dam Square- we walked through this last night also...
Me in Dam Sqaure...
My favourite... buskers in Dam Square!!

Horse and cart in beautiful Dam Square...
Matty....
Byron...
Madame Tussaud's building....
Byron in front of the spectacular shopping plaza...
He's a wanderer.....
Yes Matty, you are a HOMO monument.... haha!
The cafes are set up like the ones in Paris with the chairs all facing the street so you can sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by....
The lads...
Matty...
Byron...
Me...
Pretty canals...
Byron insisted on carrying my handbag... hmmm...... homo monument? Haha!!
A reference to Byza's name...
In Vondel Park, Matt sitting on the giant M of Amsterdam!
Matt is the tiny little dot on top of the letter M!
There's me in between the E and the R!
And now its my turn to be the tiny little dot!
Now it's Byza's turn...
He really is a tiny little dot in this one...
Vondel Park- the weather was beautiful so we sat outside for a while and enjoyed the sunshine with an icecream and an iced tea! The stunning Rijks Museum in the background...

Me just after the yummy icecream!
The Van Gogh Museum...
Again Byron carrying my handbag.... what the?!!!!
Then we were off on our walkies again... past the Heineken brewery...
A typical street....

Another couple of the 'coffee shops'...

The amazing CHIPSY KING!!!!
We stumbled across the Sex Museum, so paid our 3 Euro admission to check it out... Warning, some of these display nudity!!
Matty and Marilyn....
This was a room full of disturbing sex photos from the early to mid 1900 's... creepy!!!
Matt just chilling... next to the giant doodle!
Me taking a seat on some balls...
A scene with Marilyn again...
The boys fascinated by something....

This 'thing' jumped out at us.... ewwwwwwww!!!
Ok so this is exactly what the red light district is like- women in windows just like this... although most of them wearing a lot less...
Now this guy is a flasher.... now you dont see it.....
Now you do.... ew!!!
And that was about it, funny and disturbing all rolled into one!
Byron and me just waiting for Matt to get some more cashola changed over...
And we were back on our sight seeing wander. Houses on/ in the canal....
Finally we found the Grasshopper!! Byron was going on and on and on about it all weekend and how much he wanted to go there and in our last few hours in Amsterdam... we found it, thank Christ!! Otherwise we would never have heard the end of it!!
More street life....
We made our way back to see what the red light district was like during the day.... past more pretty canals and buildings and boats....
And found out that it's not much different to the night time- there is actually women in the windows during the day.... SO SEEDY!!!!! Here's the entrance to one part of the red light district... Sexy land?????!!
A cool shop window I liked...
Byron had the munchies so it was off to Maccas....
And then it was back to the backpackers place to pick up our bags. On the way passing by this teeny tiny car....
Matty trying to pick it up.... good try kid.... good try.....
Then it was back to the coach station at 8pm to head back to London! I was bored waiting for the coach so I played with the settings on my camera....

Black and white Amsterdam...
Brown Amsterdam...
Orange Amsterdam....
Pink Amsterdam....
Purple Amsterdam....
Blue Amsterdam...
Green Amsterdam....
Yellow Amsterdam.....
And finally, 'fuzzy' Amsterdam.....
So that was our weekend in Amsterdam! Certainly an eye opener and could well be the sex and drug capital of the world. You couldn't walk down the street 5 minute without being asked if you wanted to buy drugs- ANY drug. By the end of the weekend I just wanted to yell at them all "For the last time NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I dont want any drugs".

The part I loved most about Amsterdam was the architecture and the canals and the tulips... oh and of course the token shoe.... the clog!!
I had a great time but wont be hurrying back to Amsterdam in a hurry! Although I can't say the same for the boys!!
