Us three girls, quickly got changed after work and then headed into Leicester Square for some dinner before the show. Byron joined us for dinner, but then had to head off to work so couldnt come to the show.
We didnt know what to expect seeing La Clique, hadn't heard much about it, other than it was fabulous. But let me tell you we all laughed and loved it soooooooooooooooooo much!! Would highly recommend to see it!! La Clique is a melange of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety. The show has been described as ‘spellbinding, sexy and stunning’.
It was different to any other show I had seen before- it didn't follow a story- it was essentially a circus, but for adults! The inside of the theatre was even set up like a circus with podiums and all the chairs set up around a stage in the centre and red thick stage curtains- was so amazing! There were many different characters which made up the show:
Amy G is a full-on show stopping showgirl: she has the legs, the skates, the ukulele, and what she can do with a kazoo will astound you (really, it's quite.... strange!) A physical comedienne, actor and musician of prodigious anatomical gifts.
Captain Frodo is double jointed.... and possesses an utterly beguiling charm. He has famed the world over for bending, contorting and manipulating his body into shapes that are as astonishing as they are unnatural, Frodo is one of a kind. You will never look at a tennis racquet, much less a baked-bean tin, the same way again!! He had us in stitches!!!!.jpg)

These amazing Aussie guys are two delightfully devilish and cordial “English” gentlemen who perform inconceivable feats of acrobatic skill, strength and balance, whilst casually puffing a pipe, reading the newspaper and sporting the stiffest of British upper lips. The act mixes their highly skilled feats with a dry English wit, unexpectedly climaxing with the two hilariously bearing near-all for Queen and country and in the process displaying more pure sex appeal than ever before seen under a bowler hat. Their tricks were astonishing, there are so STRONG!!!!
A showman of exceptional talents, Mario is a leather-bursting reincarnation of Freddie Mercury - that's if you can imagine a Freddie who had been able to juggle, ride a unicycle and if indeed he had ever run away to join the circus. Mario's greatest skill, however, is to make even the most intimate of venues into a rocking arena spectacle, and to unite even the largest venues into one arm-waving excuse for a crowd-surf. And that's what he did- he crowd surfed around the entire stage and got us all up on our feet dancing and singing and laughing- a wonderful entertainer!!!
Sassy, hot to trot and as skilled as they come, Marawa is both sleek cabaret artist and cheeky clown. A virtuoso of the Hula Hoop and a demon on skates, she dazzled us with her unique brand of coquettish comedy- she reminded us a little bit of Betty Boop!!! She had so much energy on stage and could work a hula hoop or should I say 20 hula hoops a treat!!!
One of the final acts was a guy who showed up on stage in a bath... but he was attached to a rope hung from the ceiling and then proceeded to do tricks and acts of strength in the bath, over the bath, squirting water over the crowd and basically just being amazing- see for yourself!!
The show went for about 2 and a half hours including intervals and was soooo much fun! I haven't laughed that much in a long time! My cheeks were hurting from smiling and laughing so much!!!! I want to take Jackie to see La Cliaque cause I just know she will LOVE it!!! A great night had by all!! This is what living in London is all about- seeing a show on a Monday night!!!! What more could you ask for?!!!
