Day 6- EGYPT- Luxor!

Our felucca time is over and its off onto dry land again. Here's Nic with the feluccas in the background....
We hadnt showered in 3 days and all we wanted to do was have a shower and freshen up but we had a couple of stops before heading to our hotel in Luxor.

First we stopped and had a guided tour of the waterside Temple of Kom Ombo. After this amazing temple we visited the Temple of Horus at Edfu en-route to the ancient capital of Thebes. At over 4000 years old Thebes (Luxor) is a living museum and the jewel in Egypt's archaeological crown. We saw this strangley dressed German man SOOOO many places we went, it was quite hilarious!!
Then they surprised us with a 5 star hotel in Luxor!!!!!!We had views of the Nile....The amazing pool area...The impressive lobby....We had the rest of the day free until 4pm to shower, swim, eat and relax!! So we did exactly that starting with a shower and then having KFC for lunch!!
We saton the Nile and watched the gorgeous sunset from our hotel...Then it was off to Luxor Temple, this was my most favourite Temple of the whole trip and the only one we saw at night which just made it even more impressive!!! It is majestically illuminated by thousands of spotlights. Shafts of artificial light stream from the mammoth columns and intricately carved lintels the architectural brilliance of the temple is magnified with dramatic effect. Luxor Temple is one of only a few temples open for night time viewing. We'ere walking like Eyptians with Brock in the background, haha!
Nic and me....Then it was off for an all you can eat buffet dinner with traditional Nubian food, it was delicious!!!A few of us werent quite ready for bet yet, so Anna, Lisa, Ginny, Nic, me and our tour Guide Soubhy, went to an Irish pub for a beer and to play some pool!!!! After a couple of hours we had tired ourselves out, so it was back to the hotel and bedtime for us!!!
