Our last day in PARIS- to the top of the Eiffel Tower we go!!

Today we both woke up sick sick sick after our day of cold weather at Disneyland that chilled us to the bone. I found it very hard to get up and moving cause i just felt dreadful. (Girls- I actually contemplated walking around Paris with a tissue stuck up my nose to stop it from dripping- you know how I did at work?!! But don't worry, I didn't!!) We couldnt even have a hot shower because overnight the hotel had a problem with its hot water heater and it hadnt reheated yet!! Aghhhhhhhh!!! All I wanted was a hot shower!! But we had to settle for freezing cold ones which no doubt made my sickness even worse!! Anywho we ended up checking out of the hotel at 11am and headed to the Eiffel Tower with a few stops along the way!

Byron was obsessed with seeing the Statue of Liberty so we headed along to see that first. I thought the only one was in New York but Byron knew the history of it and filled me in! Apparently the French gave the Statue of Liberty to New York and the one in Paris is a replica! You can see it here to the left of the Eiffel Tower....

Here's me with the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower!
And Byron....
We get closer.....
Until we are eventually standing underneath it!
Then it was time to head to the Eiffel Tower so we could go to the top of it!! Yay yay yay!! By this stage you'll begin to notice how obsessed I really am with the Eiffel Tower cause we took soooooooooooo many photos of it!! Here's me with it again!!
And Byron!
This Bridge was in a movie that Byron has seen... I cant remember what the movie was but he was quite excited about it!
We waited almost 3 hours to finally get on the lifts at the Eiffel Tower! Absolute madness!! We had to try and entertain ourselves and try and keep warm at the same time!! Luckily they had some fairy floss nearby so we bought some of that and then we were on a sugar high!!
There are 3 levels of the Eiffel Tower- 1st floor, 2nd floor and the top. We didn't bother getting off on the 1st floor, our first stop was on the second floor and here is the view of Paris from there-
And then we head to the top!! Here's me at the top of the Eiffel Tower!!!!
And Byron!
And the views of Paris.... SPECTACULAR!!! (And freezing!! On the ground it was -5 degrees so I dont want to even think of what the temperature would have been at the top, eeeeeeeeeek!!!)
And the two of us at the top!!
Then it was time to get back on the lift- we had to get on a lift from the top to the second floor and change lifts on the second floor to go back down to the bottom. Here is me on the 2nd floor on our way down.....
And Byron....
We were so cold that we wrapped ourselves up as much as we could so only our eyes were showing!! Here's me.....
And Byron!!! He looked quite humerous!!!!
Then we were back down on the ground again after 4 hours in total including lining up and then time up on the Eiffel Tower! So we took some more shots of the magnificent Eiffel Tower!
Me....
Byza...
Fountains just outside Eiffel Tower....
Me walking back to the Trocadero to get the Metro (underground train) back to our hotel- you can see I am cold, sick and have had enough!!!! I just wanted sleep and somewhere warm!!
And a few more of the Eiffel Tower!!

By the time it was 5pm so we hopped back on the metro and back to our hotel. Here's a metro station....
We had to meet our tour manager at our hotel at 6pm to get the coach back to the station to get the Eurostar back to London, our whirlwind Christmas trip to Paris is over :(
We got back to London around 9:30pm, hopped on the tube and got home just before 10:30pm... And when we got home we unpacked!!! Everything!!!! Crazy insane I know!!! But that way we didnt need to get up in the morning and do it, all we had to do the next day was our washing!
We had a wonderful time in Paris- it truly is a beautiful place and exceeded my expectations, it was everything I thought it would be plus so much more- I LOVED IT!!!!! We were talking about going back cause there were a few things that we didnt get to do that we wanted to but we'll have to wait and see I guess!!
The next couple of days I spent in bed sleeping- the WHOLE day mostly- we'd put on a movie or Friends (we downloaded seasons 7, 8, 9 and 10, woohoo!) and I just kept falling asleep 10 minutes into them!!! I was just so sick :( Damn freezing cold weather we're not used to!!!! Knocks me for six!!!
So now i'm thinking about the next trip which i would love to be Scotland or skiing in Switzerland!! Will keep you posted!!!
Christmas wasn't the same without family and all of our friends but it's just one Christmas out of a lifetime, I'll be home for Christmas next year I promise Mum!!!
